Gold is an expensive and versatile metal that can be formed and changed without damage. It comes in three colors: yellow, white (which looks silver), and rose gold. These types of gold are measured in karats, with 24 karat being the purest form and 10 karat containing 41.7% gold.

Gold vermeil is a sterling silver piece that is dipped in gold, gold plated is any other material that is dipped in gold, and gold filled is a piece that contains at least 5% gold.

The thickness of the gold plating is measured in microns, with one micron being equivalent to one millionth of a meter. This measurement determines the quality of the plating and how long the piece will stay gold. For example, we use 1 micron 18k yellow gold for our earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, and 3 microns for our rings to ensure a longer lifespan.
